Dinner with dad at Clare and Don’s Beach Shack

My grandpa Jon had a favorite restaurant he loved going to in Falls Church.  My dad and I were in the area last night so we decided to check it out and I’m so glad we did.

When you walk into Clare and Don’s Beach Shack you feel like you are at a restaurant on the beach.  There are paintings of palm trees and beach scenes on a fence that separate the outside seating from the indoor seating.  We decided to eat outside.  We enjoyed being outside but since the tables are along a busy highway the buses and traffic did get a little loud.

For appetizers we ordered the Whole Heap O’ Shrimp and the Lake Alice Gator tails.  I had never had alligator tails before and I really liked them.  They tasted like chicken.  The shrimp were a little spicy and I liked them a lot.  I liked the alligator tails better.

For our entrees I had the Shrimp Jambalaya-it was delicious.  It had rice, okra, veggies, sausage and shrimp.  It was spicy so I had to sip a lot of iced tea but I like spice and I finished all of it.

This is my new favorite restaurant. If you love seafood you will love this place.  If you don’t like seafood don’t worry there are plenty of other options.

This little food dude gives Clare and Don’s Beach Shack 5 out of 5 stars.
